REDEEMING VENGEANCE

In the hush of the evening dusks,
I hear his heavy footsteps, creeping
& crawling through the pile of husks
while his eyes, strangely, peeping
into the phantoms of the men,
who lost their sanity once again.

Intoxicated by their old memories,
The phantoms of the men travel centuries,
but their feet sink to the ground,
The moment they hear that long-buried sound.

His forehead wrinkles into exasperation;
His soul burns with desperation,
while their tears foster aggravation
As he makes sure to grant them salvation.

"The vicious cycle of vengeance
Only ends by one forgiving";
But I see his eyes burn with avengeance,
& There's nothing about him that's reliving.

Hidden far from his sinful sight,
There's little I can do tonight.

But before I make any other inference
about his cold indifference,
I see his dark gaze soften-
Perhaps, for a flash second-
And it's not something that happens very often;
For have you ever heard of life coming from the deadened?

The story behind his hate is unknown,
The reason behind his anger a mystery.
& Now, only the stars know how he ended up alone,
Or perhaps, he fought a war of losing victory.

Whatever he lost there in his past,
he swears to snatch it away from them.
& His dreadening demeanor leaves them aghast,
as they can do nothing to condemn.

With teary eyes & a heavy heart,
They wait for him to snatch their souls apart,
but what he does next left us off guard–
He falls on his knees like a warrior lost,
& His eyes screams how badly he is jarred,
As finally, he lets his heart defrost.

The men embraced the 'lost' him
Until it melted his expressions grim.
Making his life a beautiful exemption
By granting him his long-deserved redemption.

The phantoms of the men gave him independence,
Writing a story of Redeeming Vengeance...
